What are the impacts on terrestrial ecosystems from the interactions between current and future land use practices and effects of climate change? How will current and future land use practices and policy affect climate impacts on terrestrial ecosystems? What are the feedbacks between terrestrial ecosystem changes and climate?
The focus of this session is on consequences and feedbacks of climate change and land use change on terrestrial systems. Topics may include, as examples, land use feedbacks, effects on ecosystem services, changes in carbon and nutrient cycles, land use policy, and soil and vegetation dynamics. The studies may be concerned with past, present or future conditions at regional and global scales.
